These puppy pads absorb well and my pups have had almost no accidents with those being very near the pads. My only wish for their better reliability would be for them to be 1/2 inch longer to fit my pad holders. The dogs seem to be attracted to their smell and the absorbency is really good. I ordered the black pads for my cat who urinates outside of the litterbox.
