I finally had a chance to put the rod to the test. I was very pleased with the rod while bottom bottom fishing. After purchasing this rod I put on a 6500 series Penn reel. The balance is great and I like the design of the rod. However, I found out this weekend that this rod is no match for a Grouper of 15 lbs. or better. 3 hookups and 3 lost battles as this rod just does not have the backbone for that fight.
