The old 8th is now out of commission & the replacement in play. Time will tell how well this hole fits in. The new angle this necessitates and elevation it provides on the 9th tee makes this a more interesting hole, and the required shot into this green that Tom Doak detailed in his book “Anatomy of a Golf Course” is actually more relevant for me as long par 4 as a higher handicapper than it was...

Opened in 1894 this is a delightful course consists of 9 holes but with 11 greens. The course is located at the end of the Snake Pass in the High Peak and so is interestingly hilly. This affords beautiful views across the sourrounding countryside. The course has been in superb condition thoughout the summer and plays on full greens through the winter months. It is compact and well defended and wil...

The course has been changed around since 2016 and the 1st hole mentioned in the above review is now the 13th and the 18th now becomes the 12th. Many more changes have been made since 2016 including our Course Manager becoming an R & A Scholar. Whilst I am biased being a member I can truthfully say the course has never been better in the 56 yrs I have been there. Every visitor comments on our green...

Carne is among the greatest links in the world but defies the metrics used to split hairs between the worlds greatest courses. Even the most eloquent golf writers and accomplished photographers fail to capture Carne with their words and pictures. Carne is one of those things in life no one can do for you as you have to make the journey there for yourself.

Without doubt one of the best courses in Ireland I have golfed all over the world over many years and have played Tralee a number of times and loved it every time. It is set on perfect land with the back nine in some of the most spectacular dune land and Close to Water vistas you could hope for. Don’t miss it A friend of mine had a hole in one on his birthday on the pat three called shipwreck. Ce...

The first impressions are excellent, a warm friendly welcome. The Proshop staff and course marshals are very helpful and knowledgeable. I played the JH Taylor course off the back tees. The layout was challenging and the course was in perfect condition. The bunkering is very well thought out and the greens are fast and true. I highly recommend you play this course.

Such a warm welcome. Special feel on the first tee. Spectacular setting. Too many holes that I would say are amazing. Short and friendly off the standard tees making the short approach shots more interesting. Landing in the correct spots is key. Plenty of space off the tees. Caddie was great (Stuart). I can’t wait to go back. Iv played the old course and birkdale and this stands up. The final 6 ho...

Superb condition on the first 7th parkland and when you come to the 8th 9th 10th which is links overlooking the sea, it was still in excellent condition considering they had no rain for weeks. Back to parkland from the 11th. Greens kind and well kept. Ideal place to play with friends. Friendly staff and offers food to pre order. Great 19th hole with a outdoor balcony overlooking the sea. Very rea...

I found that the welcome, passion and enthusiasm for the club by the members and staff at every interaction to be first class, it was great to hear and see the exciting projects underway at the oldest club in Leeds (founded in 1892) A new practice facility complete with 2 full size greens and bunkers will be magnificent as will the additional irrigation system to provide water to tees and fairways...

Visited in early April 2022 with a family group and had a fantastic time both on and off course. Many thanks to Andi and Caroline in the club house for looking after us so well including finding clubs and shoes for us when ours failed to make the flight! Fresh lobster caught just yards from the course made for a memorable lunch. Special mention also for the Shore at Gansey. This was Andi's rec...
