My 10 yr old Canadian x gelding was diagnosed with uncompensated IR one year ago. Laminitis, Grade 3/5 lame on right front turning to the right, fortunately no rotation on radiographs. Implemented emergency diet, improved but still noticeably lame to the right into the summer. Started him on the jiaogulin herb and Amino Trace in August. Noticed a huge improvement in 2 weeks. He has remained sound with diet management ( thanks Mad Barn for helping to balance the ration) and regular trims. His coat looks fantastic, Im seeing more hoof growth, and he is full of energy. During our last cold snap( -30C) he showed no signs of cold induced laminitis and has remained very active. Amazing products.

I love this product!! I switched my horse to this two months ago and I'm already seeing positive changes. I also feel a lot less anxious about trying to work out what "holes" I need to fill in her diet while feeding this, as there ARE no holes! No extra supplements needed! Amino Trace , on its own, has better levels of biotin, copper, zinc, magnesium, etc., than I would find in any supplements I might have needed to add to other commercial feeds, and I love that it doesn't have a bunch of sugary filler. My mare ate it immediately, right out of my hand, and was mooching for more from me. So no palatability issues there at all. She isn't ECIR, but between her being older, and us being in a high iron area, it seems like the best nutritional fit. I also provide loose salt and a plain white sa...

My horse eats the pellets no problem. I know that she gets [redacted] during competition season. This has helped with her body condition and attitude. Unfortunately we didn't get to compete last season, so although I kept her fit I cannot say whether this product will keep [redacted] at bay during a busy show season. Maybe this yr more competitions will be able to run and I will get a chance to really test it. For now both my mare and I are happy with her on it. *** Parts of this review have been redacted to comply with Health Canada Regulations ***

My vet had prescribed a pricey version of this product, so when I found this product on Mad Barn, I happily bought it. I did transfer the contents from the original bag to a container, to make it less messy to serve. Our mare seems to enjoy it!

One week of giving this to my 22 yr old mare already seems to have made a difference with her laminitis problem. No limping, even after her trim 2 days ago. Long term, I hope to keep her sound.

My Canadian mare has been on IR supplement for a few months now and she’s doing great, her weight stabilized and I no longer have to pharmacologically treat her EMS. I’m very grateful for this product!

I have two mares with very different needs. One is 4 years old, full of energy (and SASS!!), and has only recently been started under saddle. The other is nearing 19 years old, is arthritic, a little plump, and sweet as they come. I put both my girls on this supplement for different reasons – one to help with healthy weight gain (my youngster was quite ribby and dull-coated when I got her less than a year ago), and the other to help with overall health and vitality (I want my old girl to stay healthy until she's 50 – no, 60!). I also have both girls on the Omnity premix and the MB vitamin E and Selenium supplement. This, in addition to all the pasture and grass hay they can eat, soaked Timothy/alfalfa cubes, and beet pulp (and MB's Chasteberry for my youngster, though the jury is still out...

I have the most beautiful dragon mare. She bites, kicks, and pulls faces constantly. Such a sassy princess – I love her. However, I thought it would be nice to be able to go to the barn and not have to worry so much about being injured, so I decided to try this supplement. Does it work? Well...the jury is still out. Has she kicked me in the two weeks or so since she's been on it? Well, she has tried, yes, but has not been successful (for the record, she has NEVER been successful). Same with the biting (she HAS been successful with the biting a couple times). Has is gotten better since being on the chasteberry supplement? It's hard to say. But it definitely hasn't gotten any worse. I gave it 5 stars because I absolutely believe in MB and I do think if this supplement is going to work...
