While the majority of the analysis seems in order I have concerns about the ESC and Starch values because they are done by NIR and not wet chemistry - as was discovered when reading the sample submission form. The advertising on the Mad Barn website gave me the initial impression that the entire testing was done by wet chemistry as there is no listing of NIR in the advertising of the forage analysis product . ESC and Starch is specifically listed under a Wet Chemistry description. I have a laminitic horse and the sample came back with seemingly ’to-good-to-be-true’ values for the ESC and starch content. (Below 10%). With her health hanging in the balance I’m not confident that NIR ESC & Starch is giving me the best information to work with. I do not grow my own hay and cannot be sure of t...

I am so happily impressed with the professionalism, their doctors, liaisons and sales offer the knowledge professionals and their ability to educate about the products. I have never experienced the “sales pitch” that they really only want you to have a healthy horse. Highly recommend the nutritional consultation after receiving the full hay analysis. The conversation was so helpful! I was given lots of options and a request to keep her updated if I don't see the results I'm expecting. I'm going to simplify what I feed (yay!) and save money at the same time (bigger yay!). What an amazing service!

I love that Mad Barn offers hay analysis- the process was so simple and quick. Also appreciate the option of the wet chem analysis. And, the guidance interpreting all the details was really helpful and very educational.

Hi Mad Barn I was very happy with the forage analysis and subsequent changes in my feeding program. I will have a better feel for it once my horses have been on this program for a few months and once it is warm enough to use the W3 oil regularly. It does become solid at -15 and i do not have a warm feed mixing area so I have been feeding Flax instead as recommended. Once spring is here I will switch to the W3oil Thanks you
