I had a hair analysis done on my horse and the results came back with toxic levels of mercury, magnesium and lead. I had been using the NCD drops for a year. One of the Mad Barn nutritionist suggested the Milk Thistle. He's been on it for close to 2 months and his hair coat looks better than it has in years, so I suspect it is working! And he eats it which is a BIG bonus. I would give it a 5 star, but it takes a long time to detox so I will review again in about 6 months.

I purchased for my horse that has equine metabolic syndrome/insulin resistance. Feed one scoop daily. I feel the milk thistle along with use of grazing muzzle and reduced feed and pasture time is helping to stabilize my Paso/Morgan cross on spring grass. I feel this product is very helpful however if an equine is on meds it may not be suitable. I’d suggest a call to the vet to verify as it may provide too much clearance of the meds from the horse’s system

The milk thistle is working great for these winter months while feeding hay. Because it is nearly impossible to keep some weeds out of the hayfields, and I do not buy hay that has been sprayed with herbicides, milk thistle has helped with supporting the kidneys & liver to detox anything questionable in the hay.. One horse used to stock up when on hay, but as long as she gets milk thistle she does not anymore. This company is also great to work with. Highly recommend both the product & Mad Barn.

It would only be better if it was in a pellet!

I don't see any change but I know it is good for my horses

I ordered this to protect the liver of my Three horses because there are trees in my pasture that would be toxic if they eat them and I can’t take them down. I believe it works well except maybe a little two well as my cushings mare was becoming more symptomatic. And I realized that the milk thistle was likely clearing out her precend! So I took her off of it. And she’s responding to her meds again so I wouldn’t use on a horse that needs meds for an ongoing condition! The other two are doing well on it.

My horse has improved his eating and drinking. He eats the milk thistle well in his grain. He has increased liver enzymes and I can’t wait to test his blood after being on the milk thistle for 6 months.

I started using milk thistle after my pssm 2 horse had a major tie up. Her liver values were very high. The values have come down a lot in just a month. She has always had boarderline higher values so I will keep her on it even after they drop to normal to help support her liver.

My horses love this stuff and definitely seen them looking and feeling better..they also love the taste
