My mare suffered from diarrhea or soft stools and gassy stomach for months. I tried several other digestive aid supplements but none worked until I tried Optimum. Now her stomach is back to normal. I started my two senior geldings on Optium for two separate reasons. One horse has “cow paddie” manure and a pot belly. The other horse had frequent, excessive gas. Within a week I started to see results with both horses. After a couple months I stopped feeding them Optium thinking they were over their symptoms, but their symptoms returned. One of my horses is very picky so I had to start with a very small amount and gradually increased it. A few low sugar treats mixed in his feed helped introduce it to his diet. I plan on keeping my horses on Optium.
