I am a nurse and found that it worked well. Seemed to be accurate per what I usually run and I checked my pulse and it was completely accurate. You have to remember that if your hands are cold to warm them. That is the same even with hospital grade pulse oximeters. I feel that I made a good purchase. This works without the app, if you want, just clip it on your finger. It is even better with the app. After downloading the app to my smart phone, I put the Oximeter on my finger, push the "power on" button and the reading comes up in seconds.
