I???ve used this item at the same time with blood pressure monitor and a smart watch to check if the heart rate read outs match on the three items.They do for the most part, but sometimes there is a deviation with this item.I don???t recommend using it as a gold standard method for measuring your heart rate, however if you want to have a general idea, approximate ballpark measurement. First time you use it, the numbers are all over the place being way over a normal heart rate. From the second time on, works like a charm within seconds. Easy to read bright display and only takes a second if that to activate, read the heart rate and give you your numbers. I have another one exactly like it that belongs to a friend. I have been able to use both at the same time, and they pretty much read the same. The only problem I have is the new one does not always come on, or will go out right away before a reading has shown. I???m not sure if that is of concern as far as the accuracy goes?
