I???ve used this item at the same time with blood pressure monitor and a smart watch to check if the heart rate read outs match on the three items.They do for the most part, but sometimes there is a deviation with this item.I don???t recommend using it as a gold standard method for measuring your heart rate, however if you want to have a general idea, approximate ballpark measurement. Great little unit. Works fast. Very accurate. Gives pulse patterns, too. After about forty-five seconds the unit shuts itself off, preserving the two triple-A batteries. Bright, colorful screen. Not too busy. Smallish though, I do have to wear glasses. Great unit.
