I didn't look into other scales. I don't know how much they cost or what they can do. It's a good idea to do some research and check the ratings of the app that goes with the scale. This device is much simpler than the ones I've used before. It has the option to check three times, so there's no chance of getting the wrong result. I get anxious when my blood pressure is taken, which can make it higher. This system takes three readings with a gap in between, and then gives you the average.
