The monitor comes with instructions to test with two control solutions; A and B. They sell as a starter kit, however, they only provide control solution A. So, you aren’t positioned to accurately test the effectiveness of the monitor.

I have used these for years and it's the only one I'll use. You can set the depth on the clicker and never have the nervousness of manual sticking. Most of the time it doesn't hurt a bit.
