Even though Squarespace has changed the menu since the time of the instruction video, I was able to figure out where to add the code. Note that using a masonry gallery layout does require some intentional planning on your part (quantity of horizontal vs. vertical images) to ensure images line up at the bottom. Found this after trying to create lightboxes for bios on Squarespace and was deep into tutorial videos that were not working. This was the perfect solution for our site and actually has opened up so many other possibilities of what we can do with lightboxes. Also! It works to lightbox a Mailchimp registration or donation form too, which is amazing. Their customer service is also great. I was having an issue with the padding and they sent me another line of code via email that fixed it perfectly.
I make sunglasses and we have many different colors of each shape, on normal Squarespace I was only able to showcase one photo per color which is useless.
The customer service went above and beyond, these are good people who really helped me out. If it looks like one of their plugins can solve your issue I suggest you go for it because even if you can't figure it out SQSP will hold your hand through it.
10/10 will go back to them for all my Squarespace and general tech needs.

I bought the swatch variant plugin and the sync plugin for my store (raysculture.com) and it made my store look more professional and is now user friendly.
