My goal this year was to photograph puffins and we travelled up from Essex for this photowalk. It was worth every mile! We were lucky with the weather and we saw lots of puffins as well as all the other seabirds around. We were really lucky and saw a barn owl on our return to the car park. Rich took us to some fabulous spots, we walked about 5 miles and we had access to some great views. We had gr...

Despite the fact we were on public rights of way, Rich's route took us through quiet open meadows, woodland, farmland and alongside established hedgerows. His ability to spot and then share wildlife in each habitat was exceptional. In preparation for owl spotting, Rich discussed in-depth the fragility of the ecosystem that supports each species and how this is influenced by human practices. Legal...

Having my first walking tour delayed due to CV, I decided to purchase the 'Get A Grip course'. Hugely enjoyable and very educational! The course gave me the understanding of the fundamentals of photography. Lots of tips and tricks and the confidence to go out and take a lot more photographs. I have seen a genuine improvement in my photography since and I am less afraid to try new methods, no lo...

Rain and wind didn't dampen an excellent day spent at Bempton Cliffs. I came way feeling exercised, energised and in possession of more photography skills that I set off with. Rich was helpful and friendly and the handout that accompanied the walk was equally informative. For anyone with a keen interest in wildlife photography, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this walk to anyone. Owing to Rich...

Rich is a really good teacher. He listens to what you want to achieve and tailors the day to what you want to understand and learn. You never feel he is taking a formulaic approach, rather he engages with the questions you raise and offers his considered view and considerable technical competence to address the issues. Great follow up notes tailored specifically to what you covered and the quest...

What a great evening wandering about York and learning about low light night settings. The weather certainly didn’t dampen our enthusiasm and Rich was a very attentive and patient teacher. Nice to spend the evening with other photographers. Thank you and see you again soon!

I have always been interested in photography and a few years ago I joined one of Richard's Walking photography workshops and really enjoyed it. When I saw that Richard was offering great deals on virtual lesson's during lock down I jumped at the chance to sign up. The lessons are great, Richard would give me assignments to go out and practise and on my next virtual lesson we would discuss the ph...

I attended the night Photo walk in Manchester and enjoyed it. Rich is both knowledgeable and personable. He spends time carefully teaching the techniques and is happy to help you. The location was well chosen. An excellent evening.

This photo walk was a fun and relaxed way to expand photographic knowledge. Rich was patient and knowledgable and made time to answer all of our questions. Some of the time was spent considering technical issues but by far the most useful was Rich sharing his experience on composition, framing, alternative points of view and how to get that elusive shot. How to open our eyes and see like a photogr...
