My ISH mare has struggled with what I had considered loose stools since her arrival in N. America. At first we thought it was just her body adjusting to North American hay. Her stools were good, then not so good. Then I stumbled across this Facebook page on Free Fecal Water Syndrome and I started researching. We cut out a lot of supplements doing trial by error to see what was working and not working. I exchanged emails with my vet. I mistakenly bought regular bran, which didn't do anything. Then I realized Mad Barn carried Psyllium Husk Powder. The vet recommended putting my mare on this product starting on the lowest recommended dose, so I did. GOLDEN is all I have to say, the lowest dose was pretty much all it took to really help manage the FFWS symptoms. As FFWS is primarily a ...

Mad Barn, you have hit it out of the park with the psyllium!!    It is an  amazing product and is affordable, consistent and available on subscription!  My vet gave it 2 thumbs up and is delighted that the feeding instructions are as directed by your veterinarian.    It is a regular part of my senior boy's diet (31) and his guts are now clean.  Psyllium was added after he had all his incisors removed.  We LOVE the product.  Thank you Mad Barn for making equine health so easy.

My 25 year old Haflinger mare Hannah was having hindgut issues making her manure quite loose. Since mixing a small amount of your psyllium husk in with her other Mad Barn supplements every day, her stool is much better formed. I've tried other psyllium products but this one seems to have the most natural consistency and looks good enough for human consumption! Thank you for offering such great products! Julie & Hannah

I bought a load of hay that turned out to have a noticeable amount of dirt in it. I fed some at each feeding and noticed the dirt on the ground and in the hay. With my concern and advice from Dr Kellon I quit feeding it and used the recommended psyllium protocol to clear it out of his digestive system. Dr Kellon gave me directions to wet it and then mix with his mash am & pm for 5 days and he ate it very well. I really appreciate the peace of mind knowing that he is clear of the dirt that could have caused serious issues in the future. Thank you, Donlie and Roy

I contacted Mad Barn to do a feed analysis for our 27 year old paint horse who had recurring diarrea and at times fecal water syndrome. I had a really fast response with great advice. Part of the prescribed feed was the Optimum Digestive Health along with Amino Trace. The results have been amazing. This horse, who has suffered particularly in the winter months with diarrea, is now doing incredibly well.

Asterin, our highly selective metabolic girl, is thriving on both the psyllium and OHD. She can be finicky with changes to the feeding program and is known for going "on strike" during the adjustment period and stop eating supplements all together when new things are added. Adding the psyllium and OHD was very seamless as both seem to be highly palatable and this is coming from a horse that knows when you add a single pinch of something new. Our vet found sand in the latest stool sample from psyllium which led us to trying the psyllium as a low NSC substitute for traditional products like SandClear. We're happy to report that the psyllium is clearing things up as intended. OHD was added to our feed program because we were noticing occasional loose stool for both Asterin and our young horse...
