My horse, who eats anything, didn't like these pellets at all. Soon after starting them his hind-gut issues got a lot worse and he had a mild colic, but I had taken him off slippery elm since putting him on the Visceral+ which supposedly has it in it. I put him back on straight slippery elm and he got better and I've kept him on the herb since then. I have also kept him on the Visceral+, using various techniques to get him to eat them. I have no evidence that Visceral+ did anything for him, but once I've used it up and he goes off it, if he gets bad again I'll put him back on the product and then I'll know more. I do wish that MadBarn would tell us what form the Magnesium is in. 2.5 stars would work better for me at this point than 3 but that's not an option.

Hi,my Morab mare doesn't like ke the Amino Trace pellets. I started with a small amount, soaked in warm water, for at least 15 minutes. Still hard.Horse spits lt out. Then I used a mortar and pestle to grind pellets to powder. Added the powder to soaked Timothy pellets, plus unsweet applesauce. She smells it, takes a taste, starts nodding her head and spits it out. I've read comments by others who've said there are 2 manufacturer and they had horses refuse a particular one. So she's not getting the nutrients she needs, to grow those hooves out. The W3 Oil is liked very well.

I'm not sure how well the optimum digestive health works. I did a 14 day change over from Outlast and about two weeks after completing the change to this product my horse started to have ulcer symptoms. I did not have him scoped for ulcers because his symptoms are very specific. I have been treating him with an omeprazole product for the past 3 weeks with improved results. My horse also had a mild colic during a major temperature change. I plan to continue the product another month or two to determine if it was a coincidence or not (weather changes and new horse added to the herd also happened).

I only have one horse that will eat this product by itself and another horse will eat it as long as it is added to the ration balancer. The horse I purchased this for will not eat it at all.

I purchased this for my Cushing’s/IR donkey, but he refused to eat the pellets. My other donkey has no problems with the taste or smell, but he does not need the mineral support as much. I think it’s a good product, which I chose based on ingredients and recommendation from the ECIR group.

Probably a great product but have to say having a hard time getting the horses to actually consume the Mad Barn products. Neither of the horses I bought the oil for will eat it.
