The old 8th is now out of commission & the replacement in play. Time will tell how well this hole fits in.
The new angle this necessitates and elevation it provides on the 9th tee makes this a more interesting hole, and the required shot into this green that Tom Doak detailed in his book “Anatomy of a Golf Course” is actually more relevant for me as long par 4 as a higher handicapper than it was...

This golf course like many others in the area is vastly overpriced, and clubhouse and staff bordering on pure snobbery. The club now seems to cater mainly for well off visitors. IF YOU ARE NOT ACTUALY PLAYING THE COURSE THERE IS NO CATERING OR SERVICE. MEMBERS AND PLAYING VISITORS ONLY.

The course was fantastic, it was in great condition and the greens are impeccable. Not over challenging but still challenging enough and the layout is great.
The staff were fantastic and really helpful and friendly, the club house is fine, a bit dated but fine but the views from the verandah were exceptional.
