Bought this tool for my husband. He really likes it. However he tells me how the knife is already building up some rust. Disappointing considering he's owned it for such a short time.

Thanks very much. Glad he likes it. That blade is D2, so a little light oil is recommended. Thanks

I'm a diesel mechanic and found it to be extremely handy for the first month...then started having issues with corrosion. The springs have rusted so badly that I had to replace them. I've installed stainless steel versions and haven't had any further corrosion issues.

Note taken, Joseph. First time I've heard of this issue. Thanks for the feedback from a punishing environment. We're always looking to improve. Glad it's proving useful. Mike

It's a good tool but not awesome. It's very well made and should last. The case is good and has a space at the rear for a small pair of folding scissors (a feature the Union lacks). What I would say is that Mike is an engineer but not a designer and it shows. The tool is very capable with lots of tools built in (and even bits). With the adjustable wrench this reminds me of my old Spiderco (I own a...

Balancing scope of use with ease of use in limited cases is a design choice. My preference leans to depth of capability. I want the best chance of solving an issue and moving along. Especially if im in a pinch and that fix could save me hours of being stranded, etc. Tortoise and hare, I suppose. Both are successful species. 😀 Thanks for highlighting the build quality! Mike

While it is well made there are some issues. Pros: The knife blade is big, sharp and easily accessible. Pliers are ok and the omni-lock wrench is pretty good. The case is very nicely made. The saw cuts decently. Cons: The screwdriver isn't the issues, accessing the bits is poorly thought out. The cutter are a bit sub-par. Nitpick : I wished both sides locked in the fully open position so y...

Well built tool, I Believe it would be perfect for the average user. For the professional it’s a bit clunky to use. If I need just the screw driver it turns into a job. I wish it would have worked for me.

Thanks for the feedback, James. As with any multitool, it cannot best a dedicated tool for any given function, (though it does best any and all adjustable wrenches I've tried). It is meant to serve when a full complement of tools is unavailable. Thanks, Mike

Ot took a couple of years or so to get the tool. When it arrived there were scuffs, a creeking part, two of the detent balls on the driver bits were too far into the part to work, and a flat head screw was gouged but painted. When I complained it took about a week to hear back but they sent a replacement immediately. It had issues as well but I was able to mix and match a fair tool. Still has i...

The tool has a good set of features. Unfortunately the manufacturing process needs some work. 2 of the screws hinge screws came loose the first day I used the tool with one unthreading completely causing me to lose it. The finish is pretty crude but that's an aesthetic issue.

Hi, BB. We have those pins available in our shop. The vibration of mechanical transport seems to work them a little loose sometimes in transit. The hex bit included with your tool can be used with the other half to cinch them down a bit when you replace them. They don't seem to move after that. Thanks so much for being a customer. Mike

Thanks for sharing. Did you watch the instructional video here: https://youtu.be/h6R2e4uxuvs?si=kg6hSBNxfFk3nShb ? The tool does get fluid with a little practice. I was also a field technician in my 20s, and that is part of what informed my design choices. Hope you give it some time to prove itself to you. Thanks for being a customer, Mike

Ive raved and waited on this for four years. I’m grateful and appreciate having it. It is a well thought out tool but it is a bit lighter duty and requires more maintenance than I’d anticipated

Paul, Please use the included bits to torque down your fasteners a bit. They can loosen in transit, but stay put when seated. Please go ahead and use the tool hard, it is capable of more than you seem to think. Mike

I bought this 3-4 years ago to use as my go-to tool for IT. It looked like it had most of what I would need for doing repairs on the job. While I am no longer at that job and never got to use it, it would have performed poorly. The tolerances for the tool are way too loose across the board for precise computer work, which I view as unfortunate more than anything. I have two other main gripes w...
