I???ve used this item at the same time with blood pressure monitor and a smart watch to check if the heart rate read outs match on the three items.They do for the most part, but sometimes there is a deviation with this item.I don???t recommend using it as a gold standard method for measuring your heart rate, however if you want to have a general idea, approximate ballpark measurement. I like the overall design of this machine. However my main issue with it (and there will be a degree of variance with any blood pressure measuring device) is that there is a little more degree of variability than I would generally like to see. You can test your blood pressure again, minutes apart and get a significantly different reading.There have also been a few tests where numbers were way off ...

I think it's a good idea to have a blood pressure monitor at home so you can keep track of that vital health sign as often as you'd like. This one has some good features for a home device. Easy and convenient to use. Sometimes it has a hard time finding my pulse though, even with changing positions and hands. That's my only complaint. I think it reads pretty accurately once it's on.

I wanted an easy at home blood pressure reader so that I could record my numbers at my leisure. This item provided exactly what I was looking for!
